This exhibition is built upon a rigorous aesthetic standard, in which care for production, light, framing, and postproduction constitutes an ethics of the gaze. Beauty emerges as the result of a conscious process and becomes the visual language through which I reflect.
From this standpoint, the work approaches Eros as the tension between the biological and the cultural, between necessity and desire. In a context of image oversaturation—selfies and pornography—the work questions the loss of mystery and otherness, an essential condition of eroticism and fantasy.
Inspired by the pictorial tradition of the late eighteenth and early twentieth centuries, the proposal revisits the patriarchal paradigms of eroticism and puts forward a more inclusive view of beauty and desire. Through staged scenes observed by an invisible camera, complicity, tenderness, and sensuality emerge, inviting a contemplative gaze that restores the potency of Eros.
